Colin & Claire celebrated their wedding in the conservatory at The Carbis Bay Hotel, overlooking the sea.  We often holiday in St Ives and we jumped at the chance when the couple asked us to be their photographers, another excuse for a few days by the sea!  We awoke on the morning of the wedding to rain and high winds, but the sun came out and the bay was sheltered from the wind: it was unseasonably warm for November.  The conservatory was decked out in beautiful flowers from Flowertime and after the very moving ceremony, family & friends enjoyed sipping on champagne, each glass holding a hibiscus flower and syrup which turned the champagne a beautiful red colour.  After some time with their guests, the couple donned their wellies and we all went down to the beach for some photos, Colin grabbing a bottle of champagne and glasses so that they could celebrate in style.  We got some amazing, spontaneous, fun photos of them walking along the beach and paddling in the sea, there was so much laughter; moreso when the waves came over Colin’s wellies!  The couple had a cake of various cheeses instead of a traditional wedding cake, it looked yummy, we just needed a few biscuits …… !
